. Apply your sun protector before going out in the sun, regularly and in the following proportions: use a dab of product on the face, 4 larger dabs of sun lotion or cream on the body, or 5 to 8 sprays of spray-on product on sun-exposed body areas (arms, legs, back, etc.). Note that halving this quantity will divide the sun protection factor by 2 or 3.

. Apply sun protector every two hours, and even more frequently when perspiring, bathing or in case of rubbing.

. Sun protection products protect your skin for a limited period of time, and should not be used to increase the duration of sun exposure.

. Use a sun protection product appropriate for your phototype (pale skin, fair skin, dark skin, black skin).

. Avoid sun exposure during the peak hours of sunshine, or wear protective clothing.

. Sunburn is dangerous, especially for children. Never allow babies or young children to be exposed to the sun.
