Hydration & nutrition
Skin dryness varies depending on the amount of skin lipids mainly found in the skin’s hydrolipid film. Many factors may jeopardize the good quality of the hydrolipid film and cause skin dryness: - Intrinsic causes: genetic aging, hormonal variations, certain skin disorders (eczema, ichthyosis, psoriasis…) - Extrinsic causes: chemical factors (soap, detergents…) or climatic conditions(wind, cold, sun…). Skin may become lackluster, rougher – sometimes even cracked as a result, plagued by unpleasant feelings of “tightness” or “pulling”.
